The Young Scientists of Australia (YSA) is a national not-for-profit organisation run by and for young people aged 14-25, who are passionate about science and related fields. There are chapters in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, and Adelaide. At YSA Sydney we are always working to promote science to the youth of Australia.
We run regular social events for our members, which are also open to anyone aged 14-25. Our socials range from tours and exhibitions to karaoke and picnics. At the end of each year we cap off the social events with a ball or dinner.
Our members also get various opportunities to volunteer at a variety of events such as workshops, stalls, science shows, and science schools. Some of the events we volunteer at include:
National Science Week events
The ConocoPhillips Science Experience, run at the University of Sydney
The International Science School
Library programs
University science outreach events
At each year’s end-of-year event we recognise the hard work of our volunteers with various awards and recognition schemes.
